Charleville Lawn Tennis Club is situated at the top of Whitworth Road opposite the banks of the Royal Canal north of Phibsborough.

Local landmarks are the new Porterhouse North, Des Kelly Carpets or Hedigans-The Brian Boru.

The club is convenient for the following bus routes: the 13, 40, 40A and 40B along Whitworth Road and the 19, 19A and 34 through Phibsborough.

History and Background

Charleville Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1894 near Cross Guns Bridge on Whitworth Road.

Tennis is played in the Club all year round on five all-weather Artificial Grass courts

The club has seen a number of changes in recent years with the building of a New Clubhouse, 5 Artificial Grass all-weather courts, & a state-or-the-art lighting system.

We have a number of men’s and ladies teams which compete in league tennis to a high standard, as well as a large range of Internal Social Tennis Events

A tennis club would be nothing without its members and New Members are very welcome.
